Having imbibed rather too much Luxembourg wine tonight, I came out to a friend as a HP fanfic writer - the third non-fandom friend who knows, though I didn't tell her my fanfic identity. She was rather gobsmacked at the concept:

Her: "Ron? What do they do to Ron?"
Me: "What don't they do to Ron?"

Oh, the look on her face! :)

(Perhaps I should have told her about the fic with Ron and the Giant squid... no, it's probably as well that I didn't. Not to mention

kennahijja's beautiful Ron/Lucus ficlets Remuneration and Recalcitrance...)

I did give her the link to

deralte's Uric the Oddball And The Wild Hunt because A) it's one of my favoutite fics; B) it doesn't affect interpretation of canon as much as most fics; and C) the Wild Hunt part of it touches on a common interest.

But I do hope she clicks around.
