I keep finding things I want to share here, and then feel the moment passing. Enough moments have passed now that I should probably post them anyhow, even if the freshness of my enthusiasm has passed.

But first, update on my boring life, #whatever:
Still only working one day a week. [Paid work, that is. Unpaid work is plenty plentiful.] Amazingly, still haven't run out of cash thanks to Mr Visa taking care of grocery bills and train tickets, and Mr Govt finally refunding the tax it shouldn't have taken last winter.

Still waiting for my damned CRB to come through - seven weeks and counting - so I can start asking the local library for crumbs of work here and there.
But at least there are a few jobs to apply for this week, unlike the last month.

Finally decided to make a bed from scratch rather than cannibalising the nice one the landlord left in the cellar. Having so decided, finally went down to a local woodyard a week ago, and - after some banter with the proprietors for which my yearish in the construction industry stood me in good stead - wood was delivered to my door under 3 hours later, all cut to size. Am now a fan of the wood yard!
And am now about halfway through screwing the pieces of bed together. Hope to be finished that by the end of the weekend.

Cat gave us a scare by disappearing for two days. Spent most of today and sat through choir tonight feeling that the bottom had dropped from my world and trying to accept that I might not see him again - but he was home before I was and is now back on my bed, curled up in a position that leaves no room for me. Ah, cats. :)

Have now accepted that I won't be able to go to Infinitus after all, after four months of expenses exceeding income. 'tis a pity, as I would have liked to try one of the North American conventions, and combining it with the HP theme park would killed two birds with one dose of carbon guilt. It's probably just as well though - it would only have given me prop envy.

Now I'm dreaming of taking a nice long walk through Tuscany, which is likely to remain just as much a dream as flying to Orlando unless I get some more paid work soon. Not sure how feasible it is anyhow - from what I've seen, Italian maps are not easy to route-plan from, though to be fair the only one I have at the moment is, erm, 22 years old.

And sadly, haven't done much writing for a while. Will try to put fingers to keyboard more...

And finally, and not least importantly... a belated Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] kennahijja, with a virtual (and cat-hair coated) hug and a few blushes for lateness...
