I’ve been spending the evening getting the flat guest-habitable. Now that I don’t have as many visitors as I used to, it doesn’t get cleaned so often.
Anyhow, my parents will be with me until Monday, and as it’s rather a small flat and I don’t want them peering over my shoulder at fandom matters, I’ll be offline for a few days. I’ll leave you with a question:
Do your parents (or children, if you have them) know about your fandom activities? And if so, how did the topic arise, and what do they make of it?
Mine seem to consistently tell me they want to know more about my life, but every time I talk about an activity that is really important to me and completely unknown to them they act as if there’s something wrong with me. It’s not that I don’t want to share, but that requires listening as well as talking. *sigh*
