To those of you who supported Bush: Congratulations, and may your choice be vindicated, for all our sakes.
To those of you who didn't: I'm having flashbacks to growing up in the eighties when Thatcher was winning every election hugely on a minority vote, leaving much of the country without a representative who represented them as policies became steadily more ideologic than logic.
This night will pass.
On a lighter note, as my mind is turned westward at the moment I couldn't resist this meme when I found it on
isiscolo's page:
States I've set foot in
(i.e. I've excluded ones in which I didn't leave the train or the station, or where I just drove through a corner. On that basis perhaps I should exclude Idaho as well as I've only driven though it, but I'm sure I left the car at least once, even if it was only to go to the bathroom. Hoping to add Virginia, the Carolinas and Georgia next year, if the friend I want to visit ever gets back to me, and the US doesn't decide to insist on biometric passports (Tourist industry. Foot. Shoot.))

Countries I've come to

Heh. That's depressingly... northern, even though I still haven't managed to get to Iceland or Norway or Spitzbergen. And not splitting European Russia from Asian Russia is perhaps a little misleading. Oh well, perhaps I'll get to Japan or the Pacific one day, before the oil gets prohibitively expensive...
